Orchestra

Rebecca Kauffman has over 30 years of experience in orchestral and chamber music performance. As principal harpist with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, second harpist with Reading Symphony Orchestra and Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and while living in PA was a regular substitute harpist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Rebecca has performed most of the major harp parts in the symphonic repertoire. In addition, she has performed several harp concerti including Ravel’s Introduction et Allegro, Debussy’s Dances sacrée et profane, Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp in C Major, K. 297, and Ginestera’s Concerto for Harp and Orchestra. In February 2013, Rebecca was the featured soloist with the HSO performing both Introduction et Allegro and Dances sacrée et profane. Rebecca also performs for operas and broadway musicals.

Chamber Music

Rebecca performs with various chamber music ensembles including her flute and harp duo, esprit!, with duo partner, Mary Hannigan, and The Kauffman Harp Duo with her sister, Jane Kauffman Brye. Since moving to Vermont, Rebecca has performed with Grammy nominated flutist Karen Kevra, Capital City Concerts, pianist Paul Orgel, UVM’s Music and Literature Series, and the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble. In July 2013, Rebecca performed with the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival Artist Faculty Series concert with flutist Eugenia Zuckerman, violinist Kevin Lawrence, and violist Sheila Browne. Venues for performances include but are not limited to churches, colleges and schools.  In April 2015, Rebecca will perform with flutist Karen Kevra and violinist/violist Arturo Delmoni in a trio recital in Stowe, VT.  For more information on Rebecca’s upcoming concert schedule click on the calendar page.

Choral Concerts

Rebecca has performed extensively with various choral groups both in Pennsylvania and Vermont. She recently recorded Spring and Summer from Gustav Holst’s Two Eastern Pictures with Vermont’s premier women’s chorus, Bella Voce, and will perform Benjamin Britten’s, A Ceremony of Carols, with them in December 2014. In addition, Rebecca has performed with the Northeast Kingdom Chorus on several occasions and with North Country Chorus in December 2012. In November 2013 Rebecca performed with the Kearsarge Chorale featuring Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, and three movements of Britten’s Suite for Solo Harp. Rebecca has also performed with the Canta Chorale and Handel Society of Darmouth College under the direction of Robert Duff in 2013-14. In PA, she has accompanied both the Susquehanna Choral and the Lancaster Chamber Singers on several occasions.

Other Functions and Services

In addition to performing at weddings and receptions, Rebecca is also available to play at various other functions, including anniversary and birthday parties, retirement parties, dinner parties, funerals, etc. Rebecca also has years of experience performing with church choirs.
